Brief description

This Series comprises the signed minute books of Ermington & Rydalmere Council from 1928 up until 1948 when the Council amalgamated with Parramatta City Council. Under the Local Government Act, Council is obliged to keep full and accurate minutes of the proceedings of its meetings. The minutes record correspondence received by Council; dates of meetings; attendees; matters discussed; resolutions carried and defeated; and reports from various committees and sub-committees. The earlier minute books, from 1891-1927, are assumed to have been lost in a fire in the Town Hall in 1946. The minute books are not indexed. These records are original and have not been digitised.
