The Council celebrations consisted of a procession which was linked with the Tea Bureau's Tea Week. It was reported more than 30,000 people lined the route of the procession, which consisted of a Cobb and Co. coach and two men dressed up as an elephant. Church Street scenes, traffic and pedestrians from St Johns to Lennox Bridge. Rotary Creche Appeal. School sports carnival Cumberland Oval, Bicycle racing Parramatta Park, water skiing, speed boat racing car regatta. Tree planting by Lord Mayor Horwood - Eric Tunks is on the extreme right, long-term Superintendent of Parks and Gardens
