Brief description
30mm medal from the 1883 Parramatta Juvenile and Industrial Exhibition. The front of the medal has inscribed '1883 Parramatta Juvenile & Industrial Exhibition' with a wreath of flowers surrounding the text. The top flowers on either side appear to be Australian native Correas. The back of the coin shows a kneeling child reaching up to the victory wreath. Surrounding the child are symbols of industry, arts, and agriculture. The latin underneath the child reads 'Let the dawn be devoted to toil.' To the right of the child is the Southern Cross representing Australia and the Southern Hemisphere skies.
