Object Detail

Brief description
The tall pine trees at the distant right remain today behind the Bunya Unit and the poplars in the centre are next to the western side of the hospital bridge. Terracing of the future site of the Wistaria Gardens is also visible. This photo was published in the Cumberland Argus & Fruitgrowers Advocate 14 December 1901. The article had noted that it had been recently completed. An earlier weir had been destroyed in the floods of 1889 and it took more than ten years to replace it.
