Crane lifting locomotive onto tracks after derailment, ca. 1920s - 1940s
Object Detail
Brief description
An assumption may be hazarded that the incident took place on the main western line of the Sydney rail network, in the vicinity of Parramatta, although there is no record of this location with the photograph. Note on back of photograph reads: "During week another goods engine left rails close to spot where train over ran dead end a couple of weeks ago. Picture shows break-down gang lifting it onto rails again.".
