Brief description
Image includes the store sign: "The Cumberland Cafe...". Stamp on back of photograph reads: "S.J. Hood Photographer 124 Pitt St. Sydney Tel. B 1845". The float features men and women in period 19th century period military and civilian costume and is multi-tiered. The street is decorated with susupended pennants, and several stores display large British and Australian flags at first storey level.
