Biography
North Rocks & District Progress association was established in 1906 to further the interests of the residents of the area. The 1983 Rules advise the Object of the Association is to "consider all subjects duly brought forward intended to further the interests of North Rocks and district and to take such steps as shall be deemed advisable to promote a knowledge of the local requreiments of the residents, and to assist in meeting them.". According to an article in the Cumberland Argus in 1938, the Association was "one of the oldest in the district and largest in the State". The Association built a club house in Farnell Park. The Assoication also connected electric light to the local school, and founded a fund for the erection of a local hall.
