Biography
Mr Graeme Brown's mother (Elaine) is the daughter of Gordon Luker Murray, who was the brother of William Richard Murray (Jr), both of whom were associated with the Murray Brothers department store at the corner of Church & Macquarie Streets up until its closure in the late 1970s. Graeme’s other grandfather, Leslie Nineveh Brown was Parramatta Town Clerk from 1939-1948 and 1952-1956. When Graeme’s mother moved into retirement living in early 2019, Mr Brown offered historic books regarding Parramatta, and Murray Bros memorabilia to the collection. The donation was accepted - part transferred to Collections, part to Reference Library. See TRIM record D06623114.
